Since its establishment in 1996 the APF internship program has provided excellent opportunities for university students interested in human rights issues in the Asia Pacific.

The APF’s internship program enables students to develop their professional skills through short-term on the job experience and exposure to the work of national human rights institutions in the region.

Interns contribute to the unique role of the APF in developing human rights dialogue, networks and practical programs that support the national human rights institutions of the Asia Pacific region.

Although interns are not paid employees they are treated as full staff members and given specific responsibilities. Each intern is also assigned to a senior staff member for supervision and mentoring.

Since 2000 the APF has participated in the Columbia University Law School Human Rights Internship Program.

More recently, the APF has established an internship program with the University of New South Wales’ Faculty of Law.

Important Notice: Due to recent staffing changes the internship program has been put on hold until further notice. If you have any specific inquiries please contact the APF Secretariat.
