In this section - APF Members, Becoming a Member, What is a National Human Rights Institution?, International Standards, Members Area

The APF is a regional, member-based organisation made up of national human rights institutions from across the Asia Pacific.

The APF Constitution establishes three membership categories: full members, candidate members and associate members. Decisions about membership are made by the Forum Council. To be admitted as a full member, a national human rights institution must comply with the United Nations’ Paris Principles.

APF member institutions pay an annual fee, which is based on their membership category.

The APF benefits from the expertise, knowledge and support that member institutions contribute to the organisation, through participating on the Forum Council and at the annual meetings, and in partnership with individual APF members or in sub-regional groups.

In turn, member institutions benefit from the cooperative relationships established through the APF and the training programs, staff exchanges and other services that are available to their Commissioners and staff.

Any national human rights institution in the Asia Pacific region can apply to join the APF. See Becoming a Member for more details.
