Right to Environment

At the 11th Annual Meeting (2006), the Forum Council decided to develop a reference for the Advisory Council of Jurists (ACJ) on the human rights dimension to the right to environment.

The Background Paper for the reference sets out the international law, standards and principles that relate to the specific issues raised in the Terms of Reference. The paper also includes information about APF member-state laws relating to the environment and human rights.

The Background Paper is an important resource, and will be used by members of the Advisory Council in preparation for their meeting in Sydney, Australia, 24-27 September 2007.
