Ahmed Saleem also stated the new constitution is a ‘rights based constitution,’ saying it guarantees wider freedoms and more powers to the people, reports Miadhu.

Saleem also expressed concern over the inclusion of hardened criminals in the recent presidential pardon.

HRCM published its first quarterly newsletter this week. Entitled ‘Haqqu’ (‘Rights’), the publication aims to raise awareness on human rights issues and report on the work of the commission.
