The Master of Human Rights Law and Policy provides an opportunity for those working or active in the field to increase their human rights law and advocacy skills, capacity and impact.

Open to graduates with or without a background in law, this specialised degree offers an extensive range of courses which examine human rights law in an international context.

A number of human rights leaders, including Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and President of Timor Leste, Jose Ramos-Horta, have given their support for the program.

“The new UNSW Masters in Human Rights Law and Policy is a must for anyone in politics, international business and foreign relations, for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in the NGO sector, United Nations or regional bodies, such as ASEAN and the European Union,” said President Ramos-Horta.

“The opportunities and challenges for those with a sense of mission in life are many, as long as one is equipped with the proper training,” he said.

Applications for enrolment in the first semester of 2009 must be received by the end of November 2008.
