A series of "operations guides" will be developed by senior managers of national human rights institutions in the region to share good practice and encourage each other in their unique roles.

The first two operations guides to be prepared by the APF's Senior Executive Officers (SEO) Network will focus on building strong internal working relationships and monitoring and reporting on NHRI impact and performance.

These short, practice-based guides will draw on the collective expertise of members of the SEO Network.

Developing the operations guides was an outcome of the 2017 SEO Roundtable Meeting, which brought together senior managers from 18 APF member institutions.

Network members also discussed the key challenges facing their NHRIs and the training programs and other services that the APF can provide to further strengthen their institutions and their staff.

The SEO Roundtable Meeting, held in Melaka on 29 -30 August 2017, was generously hosted by the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM).

Established in 2001, the SEO Network provides an opportunity for the senior management of NHRIs in the Asia Pacific to build relationships and share expertise on a wide range of operational, management and human rights issues.
