Rights violations have continued in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during December 2011, according to a report by the Independent Commission for Human Rights.

Violations of human rights have continued in the West Bank and Gaza Strip during December 2011, according to a report by the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR).
According to the monthly report, the commission received 99 complaints against security forces in the West Bank and 34 in the Gaza Strip, including allegations of torture.
It said arbitrary arrests continued in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with the ICHR receiving 197 complaints against the security forces for improper arrest procedures or arrest for political reasons in the West Bank and a further 76 complaints in the Gaza Strip.
The report said Hamas security forces raided several gatherings in the Gaza Strip on allegations of illegal assembly and prevented Fatah activists from holding rallies to mark the launch of the Palestinian revolution 47 years ago.
It said dozens of activists were detained and interrogated regarding their Fatah activities.
