Senior Executive Officers Network

The Senior Executive Officers Network (SEO) was established in 2002. It provides an opportunity for the senior management of national human rights institutions in the Asia Pacific to share information and expertise (organisational policies, management practices, staff development strategies) and to communicate with each other about the Forum’s regional projects (staff exchanges, investigations training, annual meetings and workshops, and participation in United Nations and other international meetings).

At its meeting held during APF 12 the SEO Network decided to establish a governance structure in line with the Forum Councillor's practice. This consists of a Chairperson and two Deputy Chairpersons and the positions rotate on an annual basis.

The senior executives which currently hold these positions are:

• Chairperson: Mrs Hashimah Nik Jaafar, Secretary, Human Rights Commission of Malaysia
• Deputy Chairperson: Ms Susan Roberts, Executive Director, Australian Human Rights Commission, and
• Deputy Chairperson: Executive Director, Jordan National Centre for Human Rights.
