A new video resource launched by the APF explores the key steps in developing and leading effective human rights education programs.

A new video resource launched this month by the APF explores the key steps in developing and leading effective human rights education programs.

The resource complements the Human Rights Education: A Manual for National Human Rights Institutions and aims to support human rights educators in their vital work to empower individuals and communities and promote social change.

Human rights education is directed towards transformation. It is about a new mindset, a new perspective, a different way of looking at things.

Our work is about preventing violations and building societies that are respectful of human rights.

"National human rights institutions have a crucial role to play in advancing human rights education in their countries," said Kieren Fitzpatrick, Director of the APF secretariat.

"Their work is a powerful, long-term investment in building understanding and respect for human rights among a diverse group of stakeholders and, ultimately, in promoting fairer and more just societies," he said.

"We hope that this video resource, along with the manual, provides human rights educators with a practical toolkit to plan, develop and lead programs that make a genuine difference for people."
