The portal will help monitor progress to implement recommendations made to the Maldives through UN mechanisms.
A new online portal has been launched to help monitor the progress to implement recommendations made to the Maldives through the Universal Periodic Review and the UN human rights treaty bodies.
Providing a unified system will also enable government agencies to work collectively and build their competencies in compiling updated information on key human rights issues.
The web portal was developed by the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives, in partnership with the Attorney General's Office.
It has been supported by a grant provided through the EU NHRI project, which aims to strengthen the effectiveness of NHRIs in all parts of the globe by improving their capacity to promote and protect human rights.
