The National Human Rights Commission of Korea has found a professional baseball team violated their players' human rights.

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) has found that the Lotte Giants baseball team violated their players' human rights by keeping them under illegal surveillance, the Korea Times reported.

Korea Baseball Organization Commissioner Koo Bon-neung has been asked to develop preventive measures in response to the NHRCK's findings.

The NHRCK investigated allegations that the franchise installed surveillance cameras at its players' hotels when they travelled for road games between April and June 2014.

It found that Giants' executives did so in cooperation with hotel managers to check what the players did after games. The players did not know about the cameras.

"The act is a violation of players' constitutional rights to privacy and freedom," the NHRCK said in a press release.
