Korea: Commission hosts forum on implementing disability convention

The National Human Rights Commission of Korea recently hosted a forum on implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The National Human Rights Commission of Korea (NHRCK) recently hosted a forum on measures to promote implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Held on 7 November 2014, participants discussed the Concluding Observations made to Korea following its first State report on implementation of the Convention, which was released by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on 3 October 2014.
The NHRCK will identify all relevant legislation, policies, and institutions for strengthening domestic implementation of the Convention and provide its own policy recommendations for consideration.
In addition, the NHRCK will undertake ongoing efforts to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and work to foster positive community attitudes towards persons with disabilities.
