The Provdedor for Human Rights and Justice was invited to address a plenary session of Timor Leste’s National Parliament on 17 July 2018.
The Provdedor for Human Rights and Justice (PDHJ) was invited to address a plenary session of Timor Leste's National Parliament on 17 July 2018.
Dr. Silvério Pinto Baptista provided parliamentarians with an overview of the PDHJ's activities during 2017, drawing on information set out in the organisation's annual report.
The Deputy Ombudsman for Good Governance, Ms Jesuina Gomes, also attended the presentation to the parliament.
The PDHJ's annual report includes an overview of key human rights issues in Timor Leste and activities conducted by the national human rights institution during the year to 31 December, as well as an analysis of the complaints received and resolved during the year.
