Use of APF name, logo or brand

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) has a reputation for providing high quality advice, training, resources and other services to member organisations and other stakeholders.

The APF name, logo and brand are important assets that identify the APF to the broader community, and their misuse has the potential to impact negatively on the APFs reputation and image.

The APF notes that third parties may wish to use its name, logo or brand to show an association with the APF however, you should not do so without written approval.

In order to preserve its reputation and image, the APF will take action against improper use of its name, logo and brand.

Name, logo or brand

Individuals and organisations are prohibited from using the APF's name, logo or brand unless they have obtained prior written approval from the APF.

Where approval has been granted, the APFs name, logo and/or brand must be used only in strict accordance with the terms of the approval.

It is not permissible to alter, adapt, animate or otherwise modify the APFs name or logo.

The APF reserves the right to withdraw approval at any time and for any reason, and will take action to terminate any unauthorised use.

Links to APF website

Individuals and organisations may create a hyperlink to the APF's website without the APF's prior written approval. However, in the absence of the APF's written approval, such weblinks must not create the impression that there is a formal association or affiliation with the APF, or that the APF endorses an individual, organisation or their products or services.

Commercial endorsement

Individuals and organisations are prohibited from using the APF's name, logo or brand:

  • for commercial purposes; or
  • in any manner that suggests the endorsement by the APF of an individual, organisation, or its products or services.

Political or other cause

Individuals and organisations are prohibited from using the APF's name, logo or brand:

  • in association with any political, sectarian or similar cause; or
  • in a manner that would undermine the real or perceived neutrality of the APF.

Damage to reputation

Individuals and organisations are prohibited from using the APF's name, logo or brand in a manner that is likely to damage the APF's reputation, status or image.

Requests

Request to use the APF's name or logo should be addressed to the Director and Deputy Director by email: apf@asiapacificforum.net.

Terms

'Name' means 'Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions'.

'Logo' means both the APF logo with text and the APF logo with no text.

'Brand' means the distinctive representation or sum total of ideas, emotions or associations attached to an organisation.
