The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has inaugurated a Human Rights Research Fellowship Program for individuals wanting to conduct independent research on civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights.

It will provide the necessary support for visiting researchers to contribute to scientific research related to human rights and will also promote cooperation in human rights research in the country, he added.

The research program, which can run between two and 12 weeks, is aimed at academics, university students, human rights defenders and others interested in undertaking research in relation to human rights.

It aims to develop skills in critical thinking and analysis in human rights, to support innovation and creativity in identifying ways to better promote and protect human rights, to strengthen partnerships with international organisations and universities with a focus on human rights area and to exchange expertise in this area.
