Afghanistan’s President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has reaffirmed his commitment to a robust investment in the judicial sector of the country.


Afghanistan's President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has reaffirmed his commitment to a robust investment in the judicial sector of the country.

The reaffirmation was made during a meeting with officials from the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) on Tuesday 4 November.

AIHRC officials welcomed and supported President Ghani's commitments and steps on human rights reforms, specifically on women's rights.

The officials said they were hopeful that the Afghan women will receive greater protection of their rights following the reforms.

In the meantime, President Ghani called for close cooperation of the AIHRC and asked for their recommendations regarding reform in the human rights sector.

He said the government is committed to a robust investment in the judicial institutions of the country and had numerous plans for the human rights sector.
